Board-Level Repair

What Motherboard Repair Actually Means

When shops say "board-level repair," they mean component-level micro-soldering directly on your device's logic board — the main circuit board everything connects to. Here are the specific repair types we cover, and what they fix.

Charging IC Replacement
No Charge / Slow Charge
The Tristar/Hydra or equivalent IC manages USB communication and charge control. A failed IC means the port looks fine but nothing charges. Requires microscope-level soldering.
Power Management IC (PMIC)
Won't Turn On / Instant Shutdown
The PMIC distributes voltage rails to every component. Failure causes no power, random shutdowns, or boot loops. Reballing or replacement under a BGA rework station.
NAND Flash Repair / Data Recovery
Storage Failure / Boot Loop
NAND is your device's storage chip. Corruption causes boot loops, error codes, or a completely unresponsive device. We perform NAND reballing and, where possible, data image extraction.
Baseband / Cellular IC
No SIM / No Signal
"No SIM Card Inserted" or permanent No Service after a drop is usually baseband CPU failure or a broken RF antenna trace. Board-level diagnostics identify which is at fault.
Touch Disease / Touch IC
Grey Flickering Bar / Unresponsive Touch
Common on older iPhones — the U2402 touch IC fails due to repeated flexing of the board. Reseating with underfill or IC replacement restores touch function.
Water Damage Board Repair
Corrosion from Liquid Ingress
Ultrasonic cleaning removes mineral deposits, followed by component-level inspection to replace any corroded capacitors, resistors, or ICs. Most boards are recoverable if treated within 48 hours.
GPU / CPU Reballing
No Display / Graphical Glitches
BGA chips use tiny solder balls that crack with thermal stress or drops. Reflowing or fully reballing the chip under a hot air station restores electrical connection.
Micro-Soldering General
Component-Level Faults
Capacitors, resistors, and fuses as small as 0201 (0.6mm) can open or short. Under a microscope with a fine-tip iron, individual components are identified and replaced without disturbing surrounding parts.
